Are you already looking forward to the new “Marley & Me” movie starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston opening this Christmas? If your dog has little of the mischievous Marley in him, check out the new contest sponsored by Purina(R) Dog Chow(R) brand Dog Food.
This contest looks for your dog being a dog–playful, silly, and charismatic as only a dog can be. You can upload three different 30-second videos of your dog being his own humorous self at http://www.longliveyourdog.com . VHS or DVD Video submissions, no more than 30 seconds in length, are also accepted via U.S. mail at Purina Dog Chow Video Contest, PO Box 8241, Westport, CT 06888.
All eligible videos will be judged based on their creativity, relevance to the “unique, rascally, and one-of-a-kind dog” theme and technical quality.
The Prize: The winner will have his video included in the bonus section of the 20th Century Fox comedy “Marley & Me” DVD. In addition, a portion of each of the finalists’ videos will appear during a “National Dog Show” commercial break on NBC On Nov. 27. Best of all, one lucky grand prize winner will get the chance to attend the Hollywood premiere of the movie.
David Frankel, dog lover and director of the upcoming “Marley and Me” movie, will help select the winning video in the national contest.
Deadline: October 31, 2008. The finalists’ videos will appear on http://www.longliveyourdog.com where America will vote to help celebrity judge (and Marley & Me director) David Frankel determine the Grand Prize winner. The voting period runs from November 17 through December 5, 2008.
