Austin’s Driskill Hotel Hosts Pawliday Party

The historic Driskill Hotel, named the country’s most pet friendly hotel by Animal Fair magazine, will host a Pawliday party on December 14. The Austin, Texas event features a green carpet, dog walk fashion show. The grand prize for “Best of Show” includes the Pampered Pet package with overnight accommodations for the winning canine and its companion. Other prizes are given for “Most Festive,” the “Keeping Austin Weird” award and “Best Duo” fashion for dog and companion.

Dog lovers will also find special photo opportunities for pictures with Santa, as well as a blessing of the pets, pet-icures and pet massages while pet vendors exhibit their wares for holiday gifts. A cash bar for two-legged attendees features appropriately named specialty drinks such as Salty Dogs, Pink Poodles and Greyhounds.

Price: The entry fee is $10 per dog, and proceeds from the event benefit Austin Dog Rescue, which will have two dogs available for adoption at the party.
