Dog Whisperer Week Starts Sunday
Even if you're still working on mastering the walk, make sure you master the remote control beginning Sunday, December 28 for the start of the annual Dog Whisperer Week on the National Geographic Channel. The special week begins with "Dog Whisperer: Cricket and Hemingway & Rigby" at 8 PM ET/PT. This episode looks not only at Cricket, a British white retriever who has a real aggression with food, but at Hemingway and Rigby, two bulldogs that belong to pop star Ashlee Simpson and musician Pete Wentz.
As expectant parents, the couple was worried about the behavior of Hemingway (photo, right). He'd been aggressive not only to other dogs but also to five-month-old Rigby, the couple's other English bulldog. With a baby on the way, the couple became extra concerned.
"I find myself avoiding other dogs, I avoid going to dog parks with them," Wentz explained to Cesar Millan. Simpson also noted, "The first time I noticed Hemingway had some issues, whenever I would see him around other dogs, he would [be] aggressive. We're about to have a baby, so it's a big concern."
As with the many other dog lovers the Dog Whisperer has helped, Cesar helps this power couple become the leaders of their own pack. Millan says, "Dogs don't care how rich or famous you are; they only know who's the leader and who's the follower. My job was to teach Pete and Ashlee how to take the leadership role before their baby came into the picture."Other premier episodes during Dog Whisperer Week include:
"Dog Whisperer: Tobi & Riley"
Monday, Dec. 29, 2008, 8PM ET/PT
