The 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, held in December in Long Beach, California, will be broadcast on Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel on Saturday, Jan. 31. The event features over 3,000 dogs as they vie for a total of $225,000 in cash prizes, making it the world’s largest prize-money dog show with a $50,000 cash prize for the National Champion.

The show is hosted by Bob Goen with Leanza Cornett providing profiles, training tips and more throughout the show. You’ll also learn more about the show’s rules and regulations.

Mark your calendars for next Saturday as well when highlights from the AKC Agility Invitational and the AKC National Obedience Invitational will be broadcast. Those events were held simultaneously with the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and will air Saturday, February 7, at 8 PM (ET/PT).

When: Saturday, January 31, from 8-11 PM (ET/PT)
