Chicagoland Great American Mutt Show Planned for May

Mark your calendars for May 16, 2009, the date of the Third Annual Chicagoland Great American Mutt Show to be held in Berwyn, Illinois. The event features entertainment-based competitions for mixed breeds, rescue and all other dogs and promotes no-kill animal shelters in the Chicagoland area.

Dogs of all types are welcome but only mixed breeds who win a contest can enter the Best in Show grand finale competition. A few of the contests open for registration include the following (subject to change pending registration results): Most creative pet trick, best kisser, “a face only a mother could love,” and best dressed.

DockDogs: The Chicagoland DockDogs regional competition will feature a mounted dock and an above-ground water pool with two days of wave times, including: big air, speed retrieve, extreme vertical and divisional finals. All new jumpers are welcome.

Time: The Chicagoland Great American Mutt Show will be May 16, 2009 from 10am to 5pm. The Chicagoland DockDogs (R) competition will be held in tandem with the event and is scheduled for May 16 (9am-5pm) and May 17 (10am-2pm).
