If you’ll be in South Walton, Florida on Sunday, don’t miss the four-legged Mardi Gras celebration. Hundreds of pets and spectators are expected at this annual parade.
The Streets of the Village of Baytowne Wharf will be colorful with costumes, parade favors, throws, and Mardi Gras beads for the Mardi Pawx Pooch Parade. Themed convertibles, small floats (pulled by masters), golf carts, bicycles, and wagons fill the streets, all accompanied with Mardi Gras music. And, of course, in true Mardi Gras tradition, the parade features a king and queen. The fun event is all for a good cause: proceeds from parade entry fees go to the non-profit Alaqua Animal Refuge.
