Groomer Has It Launching Second Season April 11

Animal Planet’s “Groomer Has It” will launch its second season Saturday, April 11, at 9 PM (ET/PT). If you missed the first season, “Groomer Has It” is a reality show pitting a dozen groomers against each other in a series of challenges–all while the groomers have to live together in an atmosphere that can sometimes be described as, well, catty.

Hosted by Emmy award-winner, Jai Rodriguez (“Queer Eye for the Straight Guy”), this season will put the contestants through a series of challenges that will determine the “Groomer of the Year.” The groomers will live together in a swanky Los Angeles loft, aka “The Doghouse.” For each grooming challenge, the contestants work shoulder to shoulder and, sometimes as teams. This season watch for grooming challenges that range from creating signature looks for a “bridal and groom party” in the show’s first-ever doggie wedding to using their canine-grooming skills on pot-belly pigs.

After each challenge, Jai consults with an outspoken panel of judges including:

• veterinarian Dr. Karen Halligan
• champion dog handler Xavier Santiago
• U.S. grooming expert Joey Villani

The Prizes: The grand-prize winner will receive his/her own state of the art mobile grooming salon from Wag’n Tails Mobile Grooming, a brand-new Subaru Forester, a cash prize of $50,000 and the prestigious title of “Groomer of the Year.”
