Dog Fancy Names Top 10 Dog Parks in US

We just received our June issue of Dog Fancy magazine last night and enjoyed the article on the top 10 dog parks in the US. The top 10 were taken from reader nominations for top dog parks all over the country. Nominated parks had to be fenced, have double gates and provide free clean-up bags.
From there, parks were judged; the standards included water for dogs and their people, shade, lights, parking availability and accessibility, support organizations and special events, among others.
The grand winner was Freedom Bark Park in Lowell, Indiana, a park that includes digging areas! The runner-up parks were:
– Dog Wood Dog Park, Jacksonville, Florida
– Howard and Erna Soldan Dog Park, Lansing, Michigan
– Cheyenne Park Off-Leash Area, Ely, Iowa
– Jackson’s Howlabaloo Dog Park, Edinboro, Pennsylvania
– Happy Tails Dog Park, Dunedin, Florida
– Shaggy Pines Dog Park, Ada, Michigan
– Ossining Dog Park, Ossining, New York
– Dogwood Park at Victor Ashe Park, Knoxville, Tennessee
– Millie Bush Bark Park, Houston, Texas
