Facebook Friday: August 28, 2009

It's once again time for Facebook Friday! Every week we highlight some of the Facebook fan pages we've selected as favorites on our DogTipper Facebook fan page. This week we check out a dog artist, dog DNA test, some great pet sites, and more!

Annamarie Johnson

If you love basset hounds, don't miss this fan page; artist Annamarie Johnson donates 30 percent of all purchases to basset rescue! Regardless of your dog's breed, though, Annamarie can produce custom artwork featuring your pets and your family. Check out her work on this fan page and don't miss the "Bassets of the Caribbean" she created for the Carolina Basset Hound Waddle coming up in December!

PatriaPet

This fan page for the online retailer describes itself as "Doggedly Celebrating Heritage!" and it does just that. Whatever heritage you're interested in, you'll likely find a collar and leash in that country's colors. Look for photos from heritage festivals, information on upcoming heritage festivals, and plenty of dog info, too.

Petopia

This "social petwork" has something for all animal lovers, whether your love is feathered or furry. You'll find lots of reader interaction and photo sharing here and weekly spotlights that range from unusual pets to puppies. They're soon coming out with a game/app so keep an eye on this fan page.

Petville.com

All kinds of pets are celebrated on the fan page for this site; look for dogs all well as everything from cats to cockatoos. Pet news fills the feed along with photos from fans, cute videos, and plenty of fan interaction.

Wisdom Panel

Wisdom Panel, the dog DNA test, has a Facebook fan page filled with photos from people who have DNA tested their dog. (We used Wisdom Panel to test our dog Tiki last year and the results were such a surprise and so interesting!) You'll find links to interesting dog info there, too, including fun dog facts.
