Wag ‘n Tails Promoting Animal Shelter Makeovers in October

Here’s a great effort we just learned about: Wag’n Tails, a mobile grooming company, is enlisting the support of their 1300 grooming van owners to groom as many shelter dogs as possible, providing free grooming services to animal shelters during the month of October. October marks “Adopt a Shelter Dog” month, an event promoted by the ASPCA and the American Humane Society.

We all know that shelters are having a very difficult time right now because of the economic situation. About five to seven million animals wind up in shelters every year…and sadly about three to four million of those are euthanized because no home is found for them. Those expert “makeovers” from the groomers just might make the difference between a dog getting a new home or not.

“If we can increase the odds of a dog finding a loving home by giving it groom from a professional stylist then we are willing to do what we can,” said Wag’n Tails President Dennis Gnetz. The owner that grooms the most shelter pets in October will be awarded a five-day Caribbean vacation courtesy of Wag’n Tails. See the Wag’n Tails Blog for more information on the announcement to their owners.

Hooray for Wag’n Tails!!
