Man Attempts Dog Biscuit Eating World Record

Just how many dog biscuits could you eat in five minutes? At 3:30PM on Saturday, October 17, 2009, Mike Squier of Fairfax, Virginia will find out just how many doggie biscuits he can down as he attempts to establish a new world’s record for “Most Dog Biscuits Eaten by a Human in 5 Minutes.”
When: October 17, 2009 3:30pm (Rain date: Saturday, October 24). The event runs from 2:30-4pm.
Where: Baron Cameron Dog Park in Reston, Virginia (www.restondogs.org)
Why: Squier will be accepting pledges to raise money for Save Our Siberians – Siberspace Rescue Fund (SOS-SRF), a 501(C) 3 charitable organization that provides funding to Siberian Husky rescue groups faced with unusual or unexpected veterinary expenses for Huskies or Husky mixes in their care that are available for adoption. Pledges can be made in advance either by mail or through the SOS-SRF website.
All those dog biscuits will be provided by Tomoko Kawasumi, owner and head canine chef of Organic Doggy Kitchen of Falls Church, Virginia, who will also be giving out free samples to attendees who want to learn more about SOS-SRF while their dogs taste test healthy organic treats. The biscuits Squier will be eating will be apple cinnamon and molasses-flavored, measuring 2-1/4 inches by 1 inch (20-22 biscuits per 6-ounce package). Donors making pledges will be notified by e-mail exactly how many he was able to consume in the allotted five-minute time slot.
Anyone wishing to make a pledge can download a donation form from the SOS-SRF website, cut off the pledge section, make checks payable to SOS-SRF and send them to: Siberian Rescue Fund, P.O. Box 3012, Reston, VA 20195. Pledges can also be made via PayPal directly from the SOS-SRF website at www.sos-srf.org.
