It’s almost Thanksgiving…and that means it’s almost time for the National Dog Show tucked between the Macy’s parade and a Thanksgiving feast! Today we’re featuring the National Dog Show’s fan page plus fan pages for two special adoption drives that help pets find new homes. (We’ve said this before, but Christmas isn’t a good time for most families to add a dog to the family because of the hustle and bustle of the holidays. If you’re planning a quiet, at-home holiday, though, and you’re set on getting a dog, please consider adopting one…there are so many out there. It’s an economical choice compared to purchasing a dog and you’ll save a life!)

Happy holidays from DogTipper and the DogTipper Facebook fan page!

Iams Home 4 the Holidays

As the holiday season kicks into high gear, so does this incredible adoption drive that aims to find homes for 1.5 million animals this year! Actress Hilary Swank is the spokesperson for this year’s drive. So far, they’ve already helped over 401,000 pets get to their new homes before these holidays!

National Dog Show Presented by Purina

This dog show, televised on Thanksgiving Day right after the Macy’s parade, ranks as America’s most watched dog show. Watch John O’Hurley of “Seinfeld” fame along with David Frei as they give a play by play of this dog show that this year features three newly-recognized AKC breeds.

Pedigree Adoption Drive

This very active fan page follows the Pedigree Adoption Drive, a cause with a goal of raising $1.5 million for pets this year (they’re over $1 million so far). You’ll find photos of pets fans have adopted, adoption news, and plenty of good reasons to adopt your next pet.
