Ready for Facebook Friday? We’ve got five new finds from our own DogTipper Facebook page, each a page of special interest to dog lovers. The Austin-based Heart of Texas Lab Rescue (HOTLR), a non-profit, all-volunteer group, has an active fan page. Look for information on dogs looking for both forever and foster homes as well as the group’s upcoming events. Although HOTLR only adopts within the state, this active fan page is a great example for rescue groups everywhere.
This magazine is aimed at pet lovers in Nebraska and Iowa–but their Facebook fan page has plenty to attract dog lovers anywhere. We especially appreciated their dedication to publicizing the many rescue and shelter dogs looking for homes, featuring individual dogs, their stories, and their contact information.
California-based rockin’ doggie specializes in high-quality dog tags, sterling silver jewelry, leather collars, leashes and harnesses and you’ll find new items featured on this fan page. Even if you’re not shopping, though, you’ll find excellent links to articles on dog care, news on area adoption events, and more!
SKYBARk – “The Original Bark Bar”
Headed to Westminster Kennel Club Show in New York City next month? The fun kicks off at SKYBARk, a fund-raising, celebrity-filled, dog-loving event held at the Hotel Pennsylvania on Friday, Feb. 12. Including a red carpet fashion show and awards, this year’s event (which, for the first time, welcomes attendees to bring their dogs) will benefit the North Shore Animal League.

Los Angeles firefighter Joe St. Georges performed the recent amazing rescue of a German Shepherd Dog caught in the rising rising flood waters. The helicopter rescue was caught on video and has been viewed and appreciated by animal lovers worldwide. Show your appreciation of Joe St. Georges on this very popular fan page!
