For the first Facebook Friday in June, we wanted to highlight a special adoption awareness month and a fun dog day planned for later this month. Summer also means shedding so we’ve got the fan page for a popular de-shedding tool as well. We also spotlight a very special rescue and look at the fan page designed to bring a smile to the day of dog lovers. These fan pages are all new discoveries of our own DogTipper Facebook fan page.
With over 4 million cats winding up in US shelters every year, there are plenty of great reasons to adopt a cat (we’re surrounded by four former shelter kitties…and they love our dogs!) This new fan page recognizes Adopt a Cat Month in June, a time when shelters are generally overflowing with cats and kittens.
Florida Chinese Shar Pei Rescue
Shar Pei lovers, be sure to check out this fan page for this Florida-based 501c3 not for profit rescue, www.floridasharpeirescue.com. Follow along on the Pennies for Pei’s Drive as fans are encouraged to save their pennies for a month for a donation for these oh-so cute Shar Pei cuties in need of a permanent home.
Are your pets shedding? We’ve been Furminating (can we use that as a verb, sort of like googling?) at least one of our pets every day and it looks like we’re not alone. This popular fan page includes photos of many FURminator fans and their well-groomed pets. Keep an eye out for FURminator giveaways on this page!
Need a smile? Check out the fan page for http://www.puppyjones.com. This site shares comics and cartoons of their own dogs to bring some fun into their readers’ lives. And the name? The creative forces behind this site say, “Puppy Jones is short for Puppy Jonesin’ which we define as verb: a crazy irresistible love for dogs. We feel this is a perfect way to define how crazy we feel about our furry babies – and we know there are a whole lot of you who feel the same. We’re all jonesin’ for puppy love!”
