Hi! My girls, Lucy and Ethel deserve to be treated like stars because they are MY stars. They light up every part of my life. The neighborhood and everyone they come in contact with. I went through a very hard time and would not have gotten through it if not for them, they are MY therapy dogs! They love every one and every dog. October will mark their 8th birthday! What a great gift this would make! You can see their puppy pic on the site I left above.

My little black pug Precious needs special treatment. Two weeks ago we almost lost her. She was out playing with her brother,Crusher (he’s part pug and chiuaua) Being very hot we worry about heat stroke so I put them in the house and went back out to do lawn work. When I came in the house she was sprawled on the floor, she did not respond to her name or my touch. I picked her up and her eyes were glazed and she was like a rag doll in my arms. We rushed her to the hospital and she was in intensive car 2 dsys. She had blood in her cavity around her stomach. At first in emergency they told me they didn’t know if they could save her or if she would make it through the night. The hospital said it was either poisoning or injury. There is nothing she could have gotten poisened with as we have dog loving neighbors on both sides, a fenced in yard she never leaves unattended. NO injury could have happened because she is never picked up by our grandchildren and there is just my husband and I. My husband and I were in tears. 3 weeks later she has been given a clean bill of health and right as rain. The Vet said we may never know what happened. There were no tumors cysts etc. All ultra sounds are clean. The joy she gives us and my grandchildren deserves to be celebrated. Her life is very precious(sorry for the pun) to us. She is our “Precious Pug”

  • Mara

My dog should be treated like a star because she twinkles and shines and gives hope to lonely people.

  • Alexandra

Viva is my french bulldog – pug mix. She is absolutely gorgeous! I would love to have a portrait of her. She is very unique looking. She has the characteristic Frenchie “bat ears” and a beautiful brindle coat.

    What a great prize!

I hope I win. Thank you for the opportunity!

  • Rebecca

My pup should be treated like a Rockstar because he’s not even two but was recently diagnosed with epilepsy.

  • Louisebear2

Adopted dog #2 should be treated like a star because she has gone from being a stray dog living in the woods for at least 6 months to a well-adjusted loving member of our family. She’s been with us over 12 years now :-)

  • Julie

My dog Sherick’s Princess Charlie Boom-Boom is a star! A star who needs her portrait painted. And, she does lots of hard work as a Delta Society therapy dog.

  • Carmen Tucker

First my resuce Lab, Rhett deserved to be treated like a star not because he acts like one, but just the opposite. He is such a humble loving companion and everywhere we go he greets people and life with such love in his heart. He is always willing to share that love. He revels in the simple things in life, such as a romp at the river or a car ride into town. He has taught me to stop and find time to play everyday. I believe this would be a great tribute to an awesome guy.

My dog should be treated like a star because he is my constant companion. He travels with me, goes to work or patiently waits and home. No matter what I decide he goes along with my crazy ideas cheerfully.

My beagle, Nemo, deserves star treatment. Born with a deformed front leg, he has never known he was any different from any other dog. He brings joy to everyone he meets with his winning personality.

  • Juju

My dog, Cocoa, should be treated like a star because he takes everything like a champ. We rescued him from a home where, as a pup, he was regularly beaten up by two adult large adult dogs, and instead of turning mean because of that, he’s always been the sweetest boy. Recently he was diagnosed with canine diabetes, and he takes his twice daily insulin shots with great patience and forbearance–probably takes them better than I would! http://www.flickr.com/photos/juju-b/4907403478/

I’m already subscribing to your newsletter…and both my dogs and I love it!

  • Joshua

I would love to win this! It looks really good!

  • louisebear2

Adopted dog#2 deserves to be a star because she is a sweetheart of a dog despite a rough time in her earlier life. Someone cut off her ears and most of her tail before she made her way to us at approx 5-7yo. Now quite elderly (50 lb dog, just short of 18yo) she could really use a whole tail for help with balance. But she manages, just like she has for her entire life :-)

  • Danielle E.
  • Stephanie

My puppy deserves a portrait because he’s a good cuddler!

  • louisebear2

Adopted dog #2 is deserving of star status and treatment because she succeeded in obtaining her Canine Good Citizen certificate just a few months after living as a street dog.

  • Danielle E.
  • Louisebear2

Adopted dog#3 deserves to be a star because he was a big black dog sitting in a shelter before we adopted him. Too bad no one wanted him; he is one wonderful dog!

Adopted dog#3 deserves to be treated like a star because he was a “hard to place” adult dog living in the shelter for several months. Lucky for us, we stumbled across him on a shelter outreach day (when we were not even looking to add a third dog)! We added the third dog and are sooo glad we did!

Hi there! Just wanted to tell you about my dog Lobo. He is a Siberian Husky/Malamute mix that I saved from a shelter 3 years ago. He is one of the smartest dogs I know. He was able to learn a trick a day for a month straight before I ran out of tricks to teach him! His favorite thing to do is pull me on a bike. He is such a star, I take him to work with me at the animal rescue, and other dogs learn from his good behavior. He has even taught other dogs tricks such as spin and bow! He is a true gentleman and an ambassador for the rescue world :)

  • Pintu

Benji is definitely a big Star – the way he cares for his siblings and his mom and also all his doggy friends on the street….. For me, he is almost like the “Benji” in “Benji, The Hunted”

All 3 of my dogs deserve to be treated as (super) stars because all 3 of them are the stars of our lives. They are our daily sources of comfort in this complicated world.

Hello I feel my dog Lucy definitely deserves to be treated as a star! She is a Lhasa Apso & Shitzu mix who we raised for 9 years now. Lucy is me and my wife’s first “kid” and has been nothing but the best older “sister” to our now family of 6 since adding three kids to our brood in the past 5 years. No matter how much and hard each kid pulled and tugged on her she has only shown love to them. We all truly love her and this gift would be cherished no and forever. Thanks!

My Basenjis are as beautiful as any movie stars and would look fabulous on canvas.

My dogs deserve to be treated like stars because they are hands down the absolute bestest dogs in the entire world ;-)

My dog, Jade, should win because she is awesome! First, she’s a pit bull and, well, you know the bad rap they get. Missy Jade (aka Missy Cow Cow) has been part of our family since she was a pup. She’s 8 years old now, and starting to get a little gray. She is very sweet, and takes excellent care of our family (me, my 18-yr old son, my 46-yr old sister with Downs Syndrome and my 83-yr old mother with Alzheimers). A couple of months ago, Jade stepped in a gopher hole and broke her leg. She still sports an external fixator (which will hopefully come off in the next week or two!). She’s the world’s best dog, and definitely deserves this prize!

All of our 5 dogs are stars! Each has such a different personality: our bassett hound is laid back, our min-pin is energetic, our weiner is skittish and our two chihuahuas are feisty! Love Rachel Rossman paintings!

I love Rachael’s work! I think Glory should win! Glory is a French Bulldog that I got for my mom that had a ruff start in life, she came to us worm infested and with mange, she has since overcome her ruff start and is a superstar! Glory loves everyone and everything we call her Gordy pig as she is now as happy as a pig in mud =)
