Called The World’s Heaviest Float,” the 35-ton float sponsored by Dick Van Patten’s Natural Balance Pet Foods, Inc. in the 2011 Rose Parade® will include a real showstopper: skimboarding dogs. The float, with over 4,000 gallons of water, will feature dogs skimboarding over a specially engineered material covered in water. The bi-level float will include a large, cascading waterfall, the skimboarding dogs, and five competitive dock-jumping dogs leaping into a 21′ long pool.
The dogs on the float will include winning dogs from the Natural Balance Casting Call, held earlier this year, Tillman the skateboarding bulldog (named the “World’s Fastest Skateboarding Dog” by Guinness World Records®), and bulldogs Rose, Lyle and Sully.
The Rose Parade® will be broadcast Jan. 1, 2011 on ABC, Hallmark Channel, HGTV, KTLA (Tribune), NBC, RFD-TV and Univision. For more on broadcast times, visit the broadcast page of The Tournament of Roses.
