Bo’s Trainer Passes Away

The dog trainer who tutored First Fido Bo in the ways of canine comportment passed away on January 12, 2011 at the age of 52 from respiratory distress. Dawn Sylvia-Stasiewicz gained recognition among dog devotees for teaching the the tail-wagging chums of Washington political power brokers, including the late Senator Edward Kennedy’s three Portuguese Water Dogs Splash, Sunny and Cappy.

Although Dawn Sylvia-Stasiewicz is no longer with us, her legacy of trust-based training lives on in her 2010 book co-written by Larry Kay. The Love That Dog Training Method, a 224-page instructional guide, teaches pet parents to employ positive reinforcement to achieve results from Spots who are unschooled in social conduct.
