Her face has graced the pages of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and her line of luxury handbags are always on trend, but New York notable Tinsley Mortimer has also proved that philanthropy is always in fashion. The socialite is currently serving as the National Ambassador for the American Humane Association.
“I am honored to serve as National Ambassador for American Humane Association,” Mortimer, the pet parent of two Chihuahuas called Bebe and Bella, said. “It is absolutely heartbreaking to know how many children and animals are abused and neglected in this country every year. I share the organization’s vision of a more humane and compassionate world, and I’m looking forward to bringing attention to and raising support for American Humane Association’s programs that are helping to achieve that vision by making a difference in the lives of society’s most vulnerable.”
The high profile personality, who worked with the American Humane Association on its Adopt-a-Dog Month’s Second Chance Fund, will be recognized for her new role on March 9, 2011, when animal advocates will gather at The Mar-A-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida for the American Humane Association’s National Humanitarian Award luncheon. The event will honor Martha Stewart with the organization’s National Humanitarian medal.
