Joining forces for Spay/Neuter Month, Found Animals Foundation and the Jason Debus Heigl Foundation are doubling donations with the “Dollar for Dollar Donation Match Program” in order to reduce the plight of pet overpopulation.

Through the month of February, dog devotees and fans of felines can make a contribution on Found Animals Foundation’s website, choosing one of three facilities to benefit from the donation: Clinico, a low cost spay/neuter and vaccination facility which operates in Van Nuys, San Pedro and Pico Rivera; Spay4LA, a state-of-the-art, 33-foot spay/neuter clinic in Southeast Los Angeles, and FixNation. Each dollar donated will be matched up to $30,000 per spay/neuter partner, for a total of $180,000 which will go toward fixing the problem of shelter overcrowding.

Donations are 100 percent tax deductible and can be contributed in any denomination.

SpayInLA Day

Spay/Neuter Month will also be recognized with Found Animals Foundation’s first annual SpayInLA Day. Taking place February 19 and 20, up to 450 dogs and cats will receive free spay/neuter surgeries at three spay/neuter partner locations and a mobile facility. To be eligible, applicants must be residents of Los Angeles with an annual income of $40,00 or less. Appointments, which are mandatory, can be made online at www.foundanimals.org or by calling 1-800-SPAY4LA.

Great because spaying and neutering is the only way forward with plights such as over populated dog shelters and demand for pups encouraging dispicable puppy mills. Personally I would make it law. People now are really opening their eyes to taking on rescue dogs. For sure I will next time.

This is so important, to ensure the most pets get neutered in spite of owners’ ability to pay. Way to go, Found!
