We love businesses that give back to the dog community so we’re so happy to spread the news of a new eco-indie apparel company, Jus Animalium Culture Apparel (JACA). Created to assist pet shelters of America, founder Melissa Salinas says, “I created this brand so that people can remember our companion animals and how their purchasing decisions can make a difference for them as well as our planet.”

The company’s line features stylish tees made from organic cotton apparel and currently retailing for $18-$30. Salinas says, “Our revolutionary fair wear tees will remind your readers that eco-friendly is fashionable and most importantly that their purchasing power can create widespread change for the millions of American pets that are euthanized each year.”

JACA created the Help A Shelter Project and each month a new American pet shelter will receive funding to assist with the needs of the pets in their care so that they have better chances of being adopted and not euthanized.

Through the end of February, customers helped raise over $400 for Midwest Rescue of Illinois, and Cat Care Society of the Denver metropolitan area.

Throughout March and April, 10 percent of all JACA sales will be donated to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue from San Francisco where they rescue wonderful, loving older dogs from shelters and euthanasia and find them homes!
