She rose to the top of the country charts with the single “The House That Built Me,” and singer Miranda Lambert also holds the number one spot in the hearts of dog devotees as the Grammy winner strives to find forever homes for pets through her MuttNation Foundation.
Founded as a means of helping 501 (c) organizations whose purpose is to increase pet adoption, reduce the euthanization of animals whose only obstacle to living a long life is lack of shelter space, fund spay/neuter programs, and train shelter dogs for therapy programs, MuttNation Foundation supports the programs in part through money raised at the annual Cause for the Paws concert. (The Humane Society of East Texas will be among the organizations to benefit from this year’s fundraiser.)
Celebrating its fourth year, the day long outdoor concert on the Square in Tyler, Texas will feature a plethora of pet-loving performers, including MuttNation Foundation’s founder Miranda Lambert, Josh Kelley and Stoney LaRue.
The fundraiser, which raised almost $100,000 in 2010, will also feature silent and live auctions. Auction items can be sent before April 10th to:
