In celebration of both true love and puppy love, Freeview HD recently unveiled a Corgi wedding cake to mark the upcoming union of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Synonymous with the sovereign in the eyes of animal lovers, a sculpture of a Pembroke Welsh Corgi topped a confection created by Michelle Wibowo as a promotion for Freeview’s offer of an HD upgrade to view the upcoming ceremony of the century.
Wearing heart-shaped dog tags decorated with portraits of the prince and his bride-to-be, the regal Rover lorded over a palate-pleasing cake for pups consisting of liver dog food, chicken and beef steak.
Providing the ‘icing on the cake,’ so to speak, for the Guinness Book of World Records presentation– which took place in the shadow of Tower Bridge– were three famous Fidos whose tail-wagging work in The Queen and The King’s Speech helped both cinematic masterpieces rule over the box office. Lapping up the limelight at the event, the celebrity Spots chowed down on a portion of the tasty treat before the remainder of the royal Rover wedding cake was delivered to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for the enjoyment of Fidos who are waiting for their own happily ever after.
Dogged determination leads a pack of Pembroke Welsh Corgis on a quest for coveted seats to view the royal wedding in front of a telly with Freeview HD in the following comical commercial:
