Beauty is as beauty does– more than an old adage, the phrase is also an apt description of actress/model Isabella Rossellini. Over the years her flawless features may have been captured by the cameras of such landmark photographers as Annie Leibovitz, Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon and in silver screen sensations like Blue Velvet, but in her latest television venture the daughter of movie legend Ingrid Bergman shows animal lovers the true beauty of her soul.
Premiering April 23, 2011 on Planet Green, Isabella Rossellini’s film Animals Distract Me is a quirky contemplation of humans co-existance with the animal world. During the hour-long documentary the star shares heart-warming home movies of her childhood pets, discusses dogs with America’s Next Top Model judge Andre Leon Talley and shows how her passion for pooches has led to a new role in life– that of a dog trainer for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind. According to The New York Times, the actress has trained eight guide dogs for the visually impaired, with her latest pupil– a six-month-old Labrador Retriever named Bau– enjoying a moment in the spotlight during the TV special.
Animals Distract Me, a film written, directed and starring Isabella Rossellini, premieres April 23, 2011 at 10 10 ET on Planet Green.
