Euka Announces Upcoming Retirement

After a career spent posing for pictures and receiving cuddles from kids, Euka announced this week that she plans to step down on April 15, 2012 from her position as V.P. of Canine Communications for P&G Pet Care. She’ll spend the next 10 months teaching the tricks of the trade to her young successor.

Although Euka’s boundless passion for people may have meant that her original job path as a guide dog was not to be, her canine enthusiasm proved to be the right requirements on her resume for a post at P&G Pet Care.

Since 2003, Euka has been a vital part of the company, and now the diligent dog is helping in the search for her replacement. To receive Euka’s paw print of approval, applicant canines must love children and adults alike, show an interest in holding the office of official greeter, and must be skilled in the art of basic obedience. A photogenic Fido with a pleasing presence for videotaping is a must, and a Spot smaller than Euka is essential, as the new V.P. of Canine Communications will be a frequent flying, globe-trotting tail-wagger.

As was the case with all the pooches who have previously held the prestigious position, the Rover who takes on this role must be certified as a Canine Good Citizen and become a certified Therapy Dog.

So, how does one go about entering their dog for consideration for this position? Also, how soon must the position be filled? My dog is working on her CGC now (will test in August) and will then train to become a therapy dog after that. Thank you and hope to receive a response.
