As the former frontman for Oasis Liam Gallagher led his band to the top of the charts with singles like “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova”, but today fans are singing the Britpop performer’s praises for opting to adopt a dachshund.

The entertainer has announced that he is the pet parent of a ‘sausage dog’ named after another A-list animal lover, Brigitte Bardot. The tiny tail-wagger has found a playmate in a fellow Dachshund named Ruby Tuesday– a Rover so revered by her doting Dad that she has been known to receive calls from the rocker when he is away from home.

Although he holds a deep affection for Dachshunds, Liam Gallagher has shown his devotion for all dogs with his support of PUP AID, a boutique music festival and dog show in England which shines a spotlight on the plight of puppy mills. In 2010 the rock star not only helped to launch PUP AID’s inaugural event by signing his name to a classic Epiphone Casino guitar which was auctioned off to raise funds for the paws cause, he also signed up his barking buddy Ruby in the Prettiest Female category of the celebrity-judged dog show portion of the festival, where little Ruby–although not walking away the winner– walked away with everyone’s hearts.

A day filled with stars, songs and Spots, PUP AID 2011 is scheduled to take place on September 18th at Stanmer House near Brighton, Sussex in England.
