Trace Adkins Launches Waggin’ Train’s Jingle Contest

Trace Adkins may have climbed to the top of the charts with his single “Songs About Me,” but now the country crooner is inviting dog devotees to sing the praises of their four-pawed pal in Waggin’ Train Tail Waggin’ Jingle Contest.

A proud pet parent of two mini-Australian Shepherds named Bella and Daisy, the platinum-selling performer has partnered with the dog treats company for a competition which gives fans of Fidos the opportunity to create a ditty dedicated to the “tail-waggin’ good times” they have with their barking buddy.

“I own two dogs who remind me to enjoy the simple things in life and inspire me in so many ways, including my music. That’s why I’ve teamed up with Waggin’ Train for the Tail Waggin’ Jingle Contest to find other dog owners across America who have such great relationships with their dogs that they are inspired to write a song about it,” said Adkins. “This contest is not just for dog owners who happen to be musicians — it’s for anyone who has such a tail waggin’ good time with their dog it makes them want to sing a song.”

Through August 3, 2011, wannabe warblers can compose a ‘fetch’ing jingle about having fun with Fido, then upload the lyrics and a one minute video which showcases the amateur songsmith and their Spot.

At the conclusion of the entry process, consumers can cast their vote for their favorite toe-tapping tune on Waggin Train’s official site from August 22 – September 2, 2011. Votes by the public and all-American country artist Adkins will determine the final five who will fly to Nashville during CMA Awards Week in November 2011 to belt out their dog-themed ode at a private event in the presence of Trace Adkins, who will choose one Grand Prize Winner. The winner will meet Trace Adkins during CMA Awards Week, perform their jingle in a recording session produced by the singer and receive a CD of the jingle which will be signed by the country music star and may be featured on the Waggin’ Train website and Fan page.
