British actor David Easter, who starred in the long-running soap Family Affairs, has just adopted the newest member of his family at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.
Little Princess–a 12-week-old German Shepherd/Rottweiler who started out life as one of an unwanted litter– now finds herself in the coveted role of a pampered pup thanks to the TV star, his partner and their two-year-old son, Angelo.
“I’ve been looking for the right dog for around two months– it was so important to find one who will fit in with the whole family, including Angelo,” he explained. “The Battersea website has been constantly open on my PC!”
“The staff here are so helpful and lovely, we’ve listened to their advice and now we are taking home Princess to her new life in West London. I would advise anyone thinking about getting a dog to come to Battersea, trust what the experts here tell you, and persevere. You will find the right dog.”
David Easter is the latest in a long line of luminaries who have adopted adorables at Battersea Dogs & Cats home. Former Doctor Who star Catherine Tate and Britain’s current Prime Minister found feline friends at the UK’s oldest animal welfare organization, and the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen thanked Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for bringing his dog Minta into his life by leaving £100,000 to the charity in his will.
