A Pug with her paw on the pulse of Los Angeles, roving reporter Phoebe Rose from the blog A Traveling Pug and her Mom (Sheila Appleby Williams) recently checked out the latest in tourist transportation in The City of Angels, and in the process met a guardian angel for our four-legged friends.

Serving as Grand Marshal for the launch of CitySights LA (double decker bus tours which will take star-gazing sightseers on hop-on hop-off tours of the city’s A-list attractions) was Adrienne Maloof of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, a reality personality whose funding aided the construction of a new shelter at the Sacramento SPCA in 2002, and whose combined concerns for both kids and canines led to the development of Adrienne Maloof’s Camp Kindness.

Teaching the next generation TLC toward our tail-wagging chums, the Sacramento SPCA’s Camp Kindness– which offers animal-related education, guest speakers, tours, discussions, veterinary observations as well as Fido and feline- themed games and crafts– is conducted three times a year: spring break, from June through August and during the winter holiday season.

Adrienne Maloof bonded with her new barking buddy Phoebe Rose at The Laugh Factory during the launch of CitySights LA before heading home to her own lovable lap dog, a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) named Jackpot (also known as Blackjack).

A smile and a hug are the perfect ingredients for forming a friendship with a furry friend– just ask celebrity chef Bernie Guzman, Adrienne Maloof’s personal chef who has previously prepared culinary creations for such stars as Mary J. Blige, Will and Jada Smith and Drew Barrymore.

The CitySights LA tour buses offer an array of tour packages to such legendary landmarks as Rodeo Drive, Sunset Strip, Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and the Walk of Fame, where among the notable names dog devotees might spot stars dedicated to Rin Tin Tin, Lassie and Strongheart.
