DogTipper Dogs of the Day Aim for Hero Dog Awards

Over the past several months, we’ve written several times about the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards™ presented by cesar® canine cuisine, honoring canines in eight fields. Today we realized that at least three of DogTipper’s previous Dog of the Day dogs are nominated in the American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards! The first place winner in each category wins a $5,000 donation to their designated charity.

Surf Dog Ricochet

Surf Dog Ricochet, DogTipper’s Dog of the Year, is well-known for her charitable acts. This surfing dog has raised $90,000 for human and animal causes, including homeless animals, rescues, shelters, people with disabilities, adaptive surfing, children with cancer, canine cancer, breast cancer, autistic kids, special needs kids, and more. Ricochet’s designated charity is Pine Street Foundation Canine Cancer Detection. Ricochet has also started a fundraiser to honor Patrick the Miracle Dog benefiting the New Jersey SPCA .

Stacey Mae

This four-year-old Swiss Mountain Dog serves as a therapy dog and collects teddy bears to take to hospitalized children. So far, Stacey Mae has collected over 2,000 teddy bears!

If Stacey Mae wins her category, her designated charity is the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Bandit

Rescued at the age of five, Bandit volunteers as a therapy dog and loves visiting the veterans, troops, children’s reading programs, and visiting and spending time with the elderly. Bandit also serves as an ambassador for Big Black Dogs.

Bandit’s designated charity is Love on 4 Paws.

Good luck to all the entrants! (And if we’ve missed some of the Dogs of the Day who are up for the Hero Dog Awards, please be sure to leave your link below!) You can vote in each category in the Hero Dog Awards every day through July 31, 2011. For each vote, CESAR Canine Cuisine will make a donation to American Humane Association to help provide more animal assistance therapy dogs. Finalists will fly to Hollywood for the Hero Dog Awards, presented on October 1, 2011.
