DogTipper readers know Tracie Hotchner for her wonderful canine nutrition tips here on the site…but did you know she also has two weekly radio shows? Every weekend, DOG TALK® and Kitties, too airs on NPR or you can also hear it anytime on a podcast. Tracie also hosts the weekly Cat Chat® the Radio Show every Wednesday on Martha Stewart Living Radio on Sirius/XM Satellite. Every week, we’ll be bringing you news of DOG TALK® guests here on DogTipper and CAT CHAT® guests over on CatTipper!

This week on DOG TALK® and Kitties, too, Tracie will feature these pet experts:

  • Jennifer Holland, the author of UNLIKELY FRIENDSHIPS (who is also a senior editor at National Geographic), talks about the collection of breathtaking photographs and amazing stories of cross-species friendships she has gathered from around the world
  • Dr. Alice Villalobos (veterinary oncologist and also head of the Society for Veterinary Medical Ethics) discusses the options of palliative care and Pawspice for older animals with life-limiting illnesses and the moral dilemmas that veterinarians face every day in putting animals to sleep
  • Neil Abramson, author of UNSAID, talks about how nearly losing his own veterinarian wife inspired him to explore the painful decisions veterinarians have to make every day, and writing his novel from the point of view of a veterinarian who dies young and worries about encountering all the animals she has put to sleep, leaving behind a grieving husband and menagerie of animals he cannot cope with.
