Get ready to run with a pack of pet lovers at the 6th annual Race for the Rescues! Hosted by The Rescue Train, the fun-filled day devoted to adoptable dogs and cats has raised more than $400,000 for various non-profit organizations in the past five years.
Returning to set the pace for the event again this year is Glee star Jane Lynch, who will share hosting duties with a fellow famous fan of Fidos, Mario Lopez.
Get up to speed on Race for the Rescues’Â array of activities:
- Adult participants will pound the pavement in either a 5K or 10k run/walk and get a Race for the Rescues T-shirt for their efforts, while animal-loving little ones age 12 and under can take part in a 1 mile kids race, with each young runner receiving a medal as a memento of the day.
- The fancy footwork of a phalanx of Fidos will wow the crowd during the Dancing with Dogs demonstration.
- The words “Let’s go home” will be music to the ears of the adorable adoptables at the Rockin’ Adoption Show, which will feature canines and kitties from LA Animal Services and Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA.
- If the sight of all the happy dogs and cats make tiny attendees feel like dancing, they can join in a kid’s hip hop dance class.
- Peruse for purchases among booths brimming with pet products.
Ten non-profits will benefit from funds generated by Race for the Rescues:
- A Dog’s Life Rescue
After the Finish Line
Best Friends Animal Society
Four legged Friends Foundation
Molly’s Mutts & Meows
The Ozzy Foundation
