‘Pit Boss’ Shorty Rossi on Cover of Pinups for Pitbulls Calendar

A motto which defines the creed of the US Marine Corps, the Latin phrase “Semper fidelis” (“always faithful”) is also an apt description of a troop of devoted dogs who have been dishonored by misconceptions.

Answering the call to defend the character of canines known as ‘bully breeds,’ a few good models transformed themselves into vintage visions for a paws cause– the Pinups for Pitbulls 2012 calendar.

A best-seller for the non-profit, which raises both awareness of BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) and funds for ‘bully breed’ rescues, this year 12 glam fans of Fidos and their photogenic canine modeling partners posed for a patriotic theme, “Our FURgotten Heroes.”

Showing his stars and stripes support for Spots and the philanthropic femme fatales, Animal Planet personality Shorty Rossi and his canine companion Hercules of Pit Boss fame stepped in front of the camera for a few frames, with the retro-style result proudly displayed on the calendar’s cover.

The Pinups for Pitbulls 2012 calendar, which sells for $20, can be pre-ordered on Amazon. The calendars are scheduled to be in stock starting October 12, 2011.
