Celebrities Take Part in Stand Up for Pits

Raising spirits as they raise funds, a line-up of luminaries will make ticket holders LOL at Stand Up for Pits, a jest fest benefiting Angel City Pits, Clinico, Ace of Hearts and Saving Steve.

At the end of the evening, the following funny men and ladies will receive applause for helping out the paws causes:

  • Referred to as “Skunk Boy” during his days on Talk Soup, Wipeout co-host John Henson will show his support for Spots on stage.
  • He may portray obnoxious Todd Packer on the NBC hit series The Office, but David Koechner’s participation in the comedy for canines event shows that in real life the actor is a stand up guy in more ways than one.
  • Her chihuahua starred in the Comedy Central skit Patriot Dog: Meet Mayor Cutie, and at Stand Up for Pits Last Comic Standing judge Natasha Leggero will help to shine a spotlight on bully breeds.
  • Other humorists who will bring the funny for the sake of Fidos include Last Comic Standing finalist Rebecca Corry; Tig Notaro from The Sarah Silverman Project; Erin Foley, who has recently filmed a special for Comedy Central, and Jimmy Pardo, host of the comedy podcast Never Not Funny.

Before the comedy show commences, people who are passionate about pets can find a new furry friend at a Pit Bull adoption, taking place from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. next door from the Improv, and at 6 p.m. patrons can place bids on items at a silent auction.

When: October 2, 2011, starting at 7:30 p.m.
