Eva LaRue and Omar Miller may be stars on CSI: Miami, but on August 27, 2011 the actors took on supporting roles as they clapped for the candidates in the Guide Dogs for the Blind graduation ceremony. (Eva LaRue shared a snapshot from the event with fans on Twitter.)

At the ceremony the paparazzi magnets, who portray members of a crime-solving team on their hit CBS series, felt privileged to present the National Guide Dog Change of Life Award to Cecilia von Beroldingen, an actual crime investigator whose partnership with her four-pawed pal has helped her to continue her career as the manager of the California Department of Justice Criminalistics Institute Forensic Training in Sacramento, the Marin Independent Journal revealed.

LaRue and Miller’s participation in the graduation ceremony shone a spotlight on National Guide Dog Month, which begins September 1st. The actors recently stepped in front of the camera with pop culture icon/Natural Balance pet food co-founder Dick Van Patten to promote the month-long salute to guide dogs and to spread the word on the role that pet parents can play in helping guide dog schools throughout the United States receive much-needed funds through $1 donations from specially-marked bags of Natural Balance pet food, rounding up their purchases at the check out counter, or by making a contribution at a PETCO register or online at www.petco.com/guidedogs.  Each donation will bring Natural Balance, PETCO and individual pet stores closer to their $1 million fundraising goal.
