DOG TALK®, Sept. 24, 2011

Just this week on DogTipper, we reviewed I’m Not the Biggest Bitch in This Relationship, a humorous collection by many well-known dog lovers, and this week the editor of this new book will be the guest on Tracie Hotchner’s  DOG TALK® and Kitties, too! The show, which airs Saturdays on NPR (or anytime via podcast) is one of two radio shows by pet author and canine nutrition expert Tracie Hotchner, who also hosts CAT CHAT® every Wednesday on Martha Stewart Living Radio on Sirius/XM Satellite.

This week’s show features:

  • Lucy Postins, creator and owner of The Honest Kitchen, talks about her unusual new herbal teas for dogs and cats (yes, at long last, tea time for the four-legged set has arrived!) Tracie likes EASY PEESY for Scooby Doo’s problems with bladder stones and has even made the calming tea QUIET for herself. (Everything from The Honest Kitchen is human edible and drinkable!) Tracie also thanks Lucy for her extraordinary generosity in choosing to provide The Honest Kitchen food for life for beautiful yellow Lab, Satchel, the marvelous new guide dog partnered with long time DOG TALK® listener Gil, who lost his beloved Evie the Furry Ferrari to cancer when she was only five.
  • Writer Wade Rouse talks about I’M NOT THE BIGGEST BITCH IN THIS RELATIONSHIP, the delightful collection of stories and essays he edited by a great group of fine and funny writers, several of whom have already been on DOG TALK® themselves!
  • Tracie talks about how she lectures and “hounds” her neighbors and friends who are feeding supermarket bagged food to their dogs — and/or dry “kitty crack” to their cats — and pokes some fun at herself for being the bossy older sister nobody wants to peek in their pet food pantry!
