In the 80s he was a member of the Brat Pack, but today actor Rob Lowe runs with a new pack– Fidos who are waiting for forever homes at One Dog Rescue.

According to TMZ, the Parks and Recreation star has been a volunteer for the past six months with the Studio City, California non-profit, which has helped to rescue special needs dogs from kill shelters since its founding in 2006.

Making the care of canines a family affair, Rob Lowe’s brother, Emmy Award winner Chad Lowe (Pretty Little Liars, Life Goes On) and his son Matthew also take part in purchasing playthings for the pups, renting mobile spay/neuter clinics and helping with adoption events.

Far from the first famous faces to fall for a Rover at One Dog Rescue, actress/animal advocate Mackenzie Phillips is the proud pet parent of a former One Dog Rescue resident– a one-eyed Chihuahua named Hershey.

Very cool that the Lowes are making volunteering and helping the animals a family affair! I wonder if Rob Lowe has adopted a special needs animal from this shelter?
