Pet Of The Week: Persia: MyFoxAUSTIN.com
She may not possess magical powers like her character Piper Halliwell in the former WB series Charmed, but actress Holly Marie Combs’ appearance on a Pet of the Week segment may help to conjure up a forever family for a dog who needs a forever home.
Prior to attending the October 22nd Green Gala benefit for the new Town Lake Animal Center in Austin, Texas (which opens on November 12th), the actress stopped by the FOX 7 studio to shine a spotlight on one of the shelter’s temporary residents– Persia, a 5-year-old German Shepherd mix who was abandoned by her previous guardian. Viewing the video it’s easy to see that Combs’ compassionate nature was nurtured by her mother, Town Lake Animal Center staff member Lauralei Combs.
A pet parent to a large fur family which includes dogs, cats, rabbits and horses, the actress– who currently stars in the ABC Family drama Pretty Little Liars– was happy to step in front of the camera earlier this year for Town Lake Animal Center’s “Summer of Love” campaign to encourage animal lovers to foster a Fido or feline from the shelter.
