Raising spirits as she helps to raise funds for a paws cause, Fido-loving funny lady Betty White recently stepped in front of the camera with canine co-star Buck to promote the Orvis Cover Dog Photo Contest.

Having lost her barking buddy Kita to canine cancer, the Hot in Cleveland star is keen to support the Morris Animal Foundation‘s ongoing efforts to defeat the disease, and the animal welfare organization will be one step closer to reaching their goal with the help of Orvis, which has already raised $500,000 for the Morris Animal Foundation’s canine cancer research campaign.

Through March 31, 2012 pet parents can send in a snapshot of their Spot which might land their photogenic Fido on the cover of the country’s oldest mail-order outfitter’s dog catalog, and help to create a portrait of a brighter tomorrow for cancer-striken canines in the process.

Truly great that Ms. White uses her celebrity status to promote something so close to her. I hope they reach their goal.

How awesome to come across this site. My daughter lost her beloved Rottie last November to an aggressive cancer. Titan fought the good fight and in the end everybody at the vets adored him! I lost my dog last December to cancer. It wonderful to see that canine cancer is being addressed.
