Dogs Deserve Better Celebrity Fundraiser Auction Items Stolen

When a thief stole celebrity-donated items for Dogs Deserve Better’s upcoming holiday auction much more than merely merchandise  signed by stars was taken, as the depletion of auction items robs neglected and abused animals of their right to a brighter future.

Over the years an array of A-listers, including Johnny Depp, Betty White, Robin Williams, Glenn Close and Terry Bradshaw have helped the paws cause with donations to Celebrity Collars for Dollars, and in 2011 Dogs Deserve Better would have offered items from John Travolta, Candice Bergen and other stars to raise funds in support of the ongoing efforts of Dogs Deserve Better, which is transforming the former place of horror which was Michael Vick’s estate into a place of peace and rehabilitation for canines who have endured cruelty.

Although a cold-hearted soul spirited away the star-signed souvenirs, the thief could not take away the kindness of others. Auction Central News has donated an 8 X 10 autographed photo of animal-loving luminary Brigitte Bardot and Bill Mumy of Lost in Space fame, and both famous faces and fans of Fidos who wish to follow in the auction website’s lead by helping the nonprofit replenish their supply of auction items can send merchandise by November 10, 2011 to:

Dogs Deserve Better
1915 Moonlight Rd.
Smithfield, VA 23430

Both celebrity-related items and other new or gently used merchandise ($10 minimum value) would be appreciated.

How sad! I’m glad this did not break people’s spirits and that new auction items are coming in. I hope the event is a huge success. I did not know that the former estate of Michael Vick is being transformed into a rehab for canines. Fantastic idea!!!
