Pro Football Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk scored a touchdown with animal lovers when American Dog Rescue announced that the sports star had joined their team to tackle the problems faced by the pets whose lives were blindsided by the destruction of a tornado in Joplin, Missouri in May 2011.

Over the course of the past few months the sports star has helped to promote American Dog Rescue’s ongoing drive for 10,000 Facebook fans, which will translate into $10,000 for Humane Society of Missouri (HSMO) thanks to The Arthur E. Benjamin Foundation and American Dog Rescue. Funds from the campaign will help to replenish the HSMO’s Disaster Response Team’s finances and continue health care for Joplin’s animals in need.

Currently at 5,409 Facebook “Likes”, the campaign has just passed the 50-yard line thanks to dog devotees.
