A driving force in animal welfare, NASCAR star Ryan Newman has joined the ‘pit crew’ of one of the world’s largest pet adoption programs to put dogs and cats on the road to enjoying happy lives in loving homes this holiday season.
A champion to canines as the founder of the Ryan Newman Foundation– an organization which promotes the option of shelter adoption and encourages animal guardians to spay/neuter their pets– “Rocket Man” and his wife Krissie have partnered with Iams and the Helen Woodward Animal Center to promote Iams Home 4 the Holidays.

Celebrating its 13th year in 2011, since the start of the program 5.8 million pets around the globe have found forever homes. From October 1, 2011 through January 3, 2012 the Iams Home for the Holidays program– which has teamed with more than 3,500 animal organizations worldwide– hopes to place 1.5 million pets with parents.
“As proud pet parents to five incredible animals, we are honored to join with Iams Home 4 the Holidays to find permanent homes to loving animals,” said Ryan Newman. Krissie Newman added, “We truly believe that the real reward is when the pet adopts you and we invite everyone to join the millions of families who’ve already experienced the joy of animal adoption through this program.”

Pets without parents this holiday season will still enjoy a taste of the good life thanks to Iams Bags 4 Bowls program, which will– with the participation of consumers– provide 5 million meals to dogs and cats at participating shelters and rescue centers.
To help feed homeless pets, consumers can:
- Visit the Iams Facebook page and “like” the page, videos, photos or messages. For each “Like” comment or posting, Iams will donate meals.
- Become a fan of the Iams Facebook page and create a custom adoption announcement or holiday card. Iams will donate meals for each card shared.
- Buy specially-marked packages of Iams dog or cat food over the course of the campaign. Iams will donate one bowl of food to a participating animal organization for each specially-marked package purchased.
