Each step in a 1.5-mile stroll around Lake Balboa Park in Van Nuys, California helped to make great strides for a paws cause as 1,000 pet parents and their tail-wagging chums joined the Dog Whisperer, Scooby-Doo and famous fans of Fidos for the first annual National Family Pack Walk.
General Hospital stars Maurice Benard (who shares time offscreen with a plethora of four-pawed pals, including an Akita named Cane) and Lisa LoCicero (who enjoyed the stroll with her Spots), Firehouse Dog cast member Mayte Garcia and Good Boy, Fergus author David Shannon were among the canine-loving crowd who enjoyed a day of play with a purpose.
Throughout the day attendees took part in a “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?” scavenger hunt, mingled with Scooby and Shaggy at The Mystery Machine, clapped for the skilled Spots who entertained during doggie agility demonstrations, watched their Rovers romp in the off-leash Bone Yard Play Yard and got a sneak peek at the new Scooby-Doo mystery Scooby-Doo Legend of the Phantosaur as they helped to raise both awareness and funds for The Millan Foundation, which provides financial support to educational programs and non-profit animal shelters and organizations engaged in the rescuing, rehabilitation and re-homing of abused and abandoned dogs.
