As you know, every weekday we’ve been featuring an Adoptable Dog of the Day from one of the 3,500+ animal organizations that make up the Iams® Home 4 the Holidays® (IH4TH) event this year. The initiative, which has a goal to find homes for 1.5 million orphaned animals around the world this year, started on October 1 and will run through January 3. We’ve already received word that one of the dogs featured in our listings has been adopted and one has a letter of interest!

Today we received an update on overall Iams Home 4 the Holidays campaign so far. Since October 1, IH4TH has helped find new loving homes for:

  • 214,741 dogs and puppies
  • 190,484 cats and kittens
  • 8,678 other animals

That’s a total of 413,903 adoptions so far!

The campaign is also seeking to raise 5 million meals for shelter and rescue animals; so far, the total meals donated is  1,525,920! You can help raise meals for shelters by:

  • Visiting the Iams Facebook page and clicking to “Like” the page or various messages, photos, videos, etc. Iams will donate meals for each “like” and action such as photo posts.
  • Becoming a fan of the Iams Facebook page. There you can create a custom adoption announcement or holiday card to share the news of your new four-legged family member–or even send a greeting to your family and friends. For each card created and shared, Iams will donate meals.
  • Purchasing specially-marked packages of Iams dog or cat food during the campaign. For each specially-marked package sold, Iams will donate one bowl of food to a participating Iams Home 4 The Holidays animal organization.
