Wizard of Dogz Fundraiser from a Pug’s Perspective

Party-loving pups and their pet parents recently put on the dog for a Beverly Hills bash benefiting The Amanda Foundation, a non-profit which has been saving the lives of shelter animals for more than 30 years.

Schmoozing with both celebrities and Spots on the red carpet, roving Rover reporter Phoebe Rose from the website A Traveling Pug (accompanied by her Mom, Sheila Appleby Williams) shares her experience at The Wizard of Dogz fundraiser — a L. Frank Baum-themed lovefest in support of  Fidos and felines who hope that their journey down the Yellow BARK Road will lead to a forever home.

It’s not the yellow brick road, but it’s close. Stylish Spot Phoebe Rose models her canine couture on Via Rodeo, which is modeled after an Italian village.

Dressed to the K-9s, actor/model Landon wore his signature bow tie.

Adorable adoptable Teeny donned doggie duds designed by an Amanda Foundation volunteer:

What to do when a guest wears an outfit just like yours? Both looking pretty in pink, Phoebe Rose appeared unconcerned when she ran into another pug with a great sense of style.

Pearls are always appropriate, especially at Tiffany’s…..

Magician Kris Sheppard performed a few tricks for Phoebe Rose and another tail-wagging attendee.

Cosmos and canines: guests sipped and nibbled goodies from participating sponsors, including McCormick and Schmidt.

Purring party guest Vito (a feline actor), caught nibbling goodies.

Of course, in Beverly Hills, the devil costume was custom made.

Phoebe Rose poses with Joe Blasco, theatrical makeup employees (one of the sponsors of the event) and Amanda foundation foster dogs.

A rescued Rover who knows that “there’s no place like home,” Ginger the Pit Bull was the winner of the canine costume contest.

Guests paid $60 to enjoy silent auction, food, drink and do good. Proceeds from the event go to the Amanda Foundation.
