In bringing nutritious meals to homeless dogs and cats, FreeKibble.com’s first ever “Koast-to-Koast Kibble Drop” has provided food for the souls of animal lovers in the process.

Fidos and felines in more than 40 shelters and rescues across the country will feast their eyes on bowls filled with Halo’s Spot’s Stew all-natural dog and cat food this holiday, thanks to the combined effort of FreeKibble.com and Halo Purely for Pets, which has been the online site’s official pet food sponsor since 2010.

The following photos were taken in Los Angeles at The Orange County Humane Society by Nichole Smith:

A famous pal to all with paws, Ellen DeGeneres — co-owner of Halo pet food — stated: “Helping animals has always been a passion of mine. At Halo we want to promote healthy living for pets and eating good food is a big part of that. I mean, imagine, an animal in a shelter, in a cage, lonely – a good meal is kinda all they have to look forward to, until you adopt them!”

The “Koast-to-Koast Kibble Drop,” which began on December 13th and continues through the 22nd, will carry a total of 40 tons of food in two semi trucks to stops across the country, which will be distributed to the following shelters and rescues:

Right or wrong, each answer earns 10 pieces of kibble for orphaned dogs and cats.

I’ve been doing the freekibble trivia for at least 4 months now and I think it’s wonderful that halo is the sponsor that is willing to donate. This is the start of promoting better nutrition for pets in shelters.
