A rescue Rover saves the day in a video created for the 2012 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl contest, and uses her moment in the spotlight to help shelter Spots in the process.
Passed over by numerous potential pet parents during her days at a Humane Society, now all eyes are on Sasha as the charismatic canine shines in “Good Doggie,” one of the top 10 most-viewed videos out of the almost 4,000 commercial contenders which are vying for Super Bowl ad victory.
Endi Entertainment director De Veau Dunn has created a clip that combines entertainment with education, as the ad ends with a request that viewers visit SaveADogDay.org, which is dedicated to publicizing the success of rescue dogs and the animal lovers who support them. Save a Dog Day’s main goal is to establish a national day of recognition dedicated to supporting animal rescue programs, encouraging volunteering at animal shelters and the humane society, as well as bringing awareness to this growing problem.
“We’re really excited about what’s happening with the video,” said Dunn, “but it’s more valuable that Sasha’s life has brought attention to the urgent need for dog adoption. There are a lot of dogs and cats that don’t get rescued, especially if they’re not puppies or kittens anymore. They really need our help.”

Will Sasha– who donates a portion of her acting earnings to help rescue shelter dogs and cats– dominate the field of entries and have audiences cheering during football’s finest hour, just like last year’s champ, Oko Nono the pug? No matter the outcome of Crash the Super Bowl 2012, Sasha is already a winner thanks to the pet parent who gave her a second chance at life, but if “Good Doggie” makes it to the finals, fans of Fidos can help the canine-centric commercial tackle the competition through online voting, which begins January 4, 2012.
