Sports Illustrated Model Irina Shayk Promotes Blessing of the Animals

For the past five years Irina Shayk has posed for the pages of Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition at such exotic locales as Chile, Grenada, Maui, Naples and St. Petersburg, but in the eyes of animal lovers the supermodel has never looked more stunning as when she posed for pictures at the ASPCA adoption center in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

A model Mom to a Labrador Retriever named Caesare, Shayk’s ‘puppy love’ extends to orphaned Fidos, and on December 9, 2011 the Russian beauty promoted the ASPCA’s upcoming blessing of the animals by choosing two adorable adoptables to attend the event.

On December 11, 2011, Hammie– a three-legged Pit Bull mix– will be among the animals to receive a benediction from either a Rabbi or Minister at Christ Church in New York City.

Attending with Hammie will be a charming Chihuahua named Rocky, who also won the model’s heart.

Pet parents are invited to bring their furry, finned or feathered animal companions to the free event, which will be hosted by celebrity gossip guru Cindy Adams and will include pet treats, a performance by the Brooklyn Youth Choir and an appearance by The Bachelorette‘s Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum and their Yorkie, Boo. During the event the ASPCA will also collect new pet toy donations for shelter dogs and cats at New York City Animal Care & Control.
When: December 11, 2011 from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
