DOG TALK, Jan. 14, 2012

From thunderstorms to The Honest Kitchen, Tracie Hotchner has a full plate in this week’s DOG TALK® radio show.

On this week’s show:

  • Kimberly from the Anxiety Wrap company explains that the scientific torso compression (based on Temple Grandin’s work). Acupressure points in the design of the Anxiety Wrap are what has given so much relief to Tracie’s thunderstorm scaredy-cat Scooby Doo (who now also reacts the same way when the generator does a self-test every Saturday and makes him think the power has gone out so there must be a storm!) Kimberly tells how Tufts University Veterinary school did a study using the Anxiety Wrap that showed a nearly 90% reduction in anxiety behaviors during thunderstorms.
  • Marine Mike Dowling talks about his fantastic Military Working Dog Sergeant Rex and his work alongside the dog in Iraq, which he chronicled so vividly in his book, Sergeant Rex: The Unbreakable Bond Between a Marine and His Military Working Dog.
  • Lucy Postins, the owner of The Honest Kitchen, discusses being a small private company and having the freedom to “give back” and make charitable contributions — which she considers a privilege (and which makes Tracie really cross that some people have the gall to criticize her choice of charities!)
