The phrase ‘art for ART’s sake’ will take on a different meaning when actress Jane Seymour draws attention to the needs of homeless pets at an art gallery fundraiser helping Animal Rescue of Texas (ART).
Known for her “Open Hearts” jewelry, the former star of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman has always opened her heart to companion animals. Over the years the actress has shared her home with several dogs, and today formerly feral cats play a role in her life. Now her brushwork will benefit Fidos and felines in the Dallas area.
The website MySweetCharity.com reports that while art aficionados will flock to see the film star and her paintings at Wisby-Smith Fine Art at The Crescent in Dallas on January 27th and 28th, art-appreciating animal lovers will gather at the gallery on January 26th to purchase the actress’s paintings, with a portion of the proceeds going to Animal Rescue of Texas, an all-volunteer non-profit which places orphan animals in foster homes. (When making a purchase at the fundraiser Animal Rescue of Texas (ART) must be mentioned for the funds to go to the designated charity.)
When: January 26, 2012 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Where: Wisby-Smith Fine Art at 500 Crescent Court, Suite 146 in Dallas, Texas
