British chart-topper Peter Andre, who recently took on the mantle of host for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home’s annal Collar and Coats Gala Ball, has now stepped into the role of a doting doggie Dad to one of the rescue’s Rovers.
The reality personality is now the proud Poppa of a five-month-old Pug named Charlie, who arrived at the renowned organization when his previous parents moved abroad.
Like all new fathers, the star happily showed a photo of his four-legged family member to fans on Twitter, stating: “Welcome Charlie Pug )) we love him. He is a dude.”
The singer follows in the footsteps of other famous faces who have paid visits to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in recent weeks, including Hulk Hogan, who stopped by to show his support for the animal charity’s “Staffies. They’re Softer than You Think” campaign, and actress Prunella Scales from the Britcom classic Fawlty Towers, who welcomed a one and one-half-year-old mixed breed cat from the rescue organization into her life.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home provided comfort and care for more than 8,000 lost or abandoned pets in 2011. If you are interested in adopting from Battersea or want to learn more about the animal charity:
